Kernel Upgraded For Security Fix.	Can't Post

Hi.

Kernel was upgraded and server rebooted on 31st th May 2004 at 00:30 Hrs.
The Kernel upgrade was for securing the kernel against the vulnerability as reported below:

The downtime was invisible to most users due to the timing window during which we normally carry on all the security fixes and upgrades.

Another Security Upgrade to kernel was completed on 23rd August 2004. This is in line with the recent security vulnerability with respect to the same. All kernel upgrade notifications shall be posted in continuation to this thread.

Hi.

Kernel on scorpio server has been upgraded to 2.6.9 from earlier 2.4.27. This upgrade was taken up and completed at 00:45 Hrs on 15th November 2004 and only downtime experienced was the time needed for server reboot.

Everything went off smoothly and on schedule
